Response to Madelyn:1942:Conquest of Paradise/Codex Mendoza

Madelyn, I could not agree with you more that the film 1942:Conquest of Paradise, is extremely white washed. They painted Columbus as this caring father like figure, when in actuality he was the reason for so many of the bizarre "laws" that were put into effect. I also wanted to reiterate how unfair the representation of Natives was in this film. In the description of this film on various websites every white or non indigenous actor is given credit, but there is no credit given to any of the native extras. I also agree with you that this critical think way of reading objects and even film is opening up my views, and I can't wait to do more.
