Response to Linnea

Linnea, I am so glad that you had a teacher in school that looked deeper into the text book! I would be so interested in learning about some of the extra facts that she had taught you. I think it is fantastic that she took it upon herself to do extra research, like Serrata and Stark, and not just read straight from a textbook, which is controlled so much by the American educational system. I also love learning about the women of Latin America as well! History always presents women as fragile with no power, but as we saw with Malintzin, women hold more power in the history of men than what we have been told.
